Beyond
word for word.

A button, an error message and a settings screen shouldn’t sound like they were translated by three different people.

I don’t translate strings in isolation. I look at context, terminology and the product itself — because technically correct isn’t always naturally Hungarian.

The goal? Your users shouldn’t have to notice
they’re reading a translation.

I’m Emese.

Native Hungarian translator.
A little particular about words.

I care probably a little too much about wording, consistency and the tiny details.

I specialize in WordPress, software and digital product localization. As a Hungarian General Translation Editor in the WordPress community, I see how easily small inconsistencies can spread — and how much better an interface feels when someone catches them.

I enjoy the precision: finding natural phrasing, checking context, and wondering why the same button is translated three different ways.

“I really enjoy terminology”
is still not accepted as currency.

So yes, I’m available for paid localization projects, reviews and long-term maintenance.

A little more about how I work

I’m autistic. Autistic people are all different, but some of my own traits happen to be particularly useful in localization: I’m comfortable with repetitive, detail-heavy tasks, I notice inconsistencies easily, and I enjoy the precision.

Hundreds of strings. Similar strings. Nearly identical strings. The same terminology appearing across different screens and updates. Some people would find that monotonous. I don’t.

I don’t want Hungarian users to feel that they are using a translated product. I want them to feel that the product speaks Hungarian.

And if that means staring at one tiny UI string for five minutes because something about it bothers me… well, that happens too.
